FACTORY ALTERATIONS IN SHERBERN-IN-ELMET PROJECT OVERVIEW

Premium food producer Cranswick Foods appointed FSC to deliver internal factory alterations at its Sherburn-in-Elmet production facility.

Due to evolving operational demands, the client required a reconfiguration of their internal layout to expand packing operations. FSC reduced the footprint of the existing dry storage area to create additional packing space, alongside installing fire-rated wall systems to enhance safety and compliance.

The project was delivered within a live food production environment with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

Cranswick required:

The alterations were needed to balance operational efficiency with strict food production and fire safety standards.

Our Solution

FSC delivered a structured internal alteration programme including:

• Reconfiguration of dry storage and packing zones
• Structural steel framework to create new internal divisions
• Installation of food-safe and fire-retardant wall systems (1-hour fire rating)

• Suspended ceiling installation within the new packing area
• Segregated working areas to allow continued factory operations

All works were carefully phased to ensure production continuity.

A steel frame was erected to separate sections of the factory. In addition to this, the installed walling is both food safe and fire retardant for 1hr.

Cranswick employees were segregated, allowing works to occur without disruption to business operations.
