Canteen Refurbishment in Barnsley Project OVERVIEW

Thyssenkrupp, a global leader in industrial engineering and materials, partnered with FSC to enhance staff amenities by renovating the staff canteen. This initiative involved creating a modernised environment to replace the current food preparation area, aiming to enhance the overall dining experience for employees. The programme of improvements also included a toilet refurbishment.

Canteen Refurbishment in Barnsley

In order to successfully install new amenities, our initial task was to remove the existing ones. Once the area was cleared, the team proceeded to implement the next phases of the project, laying the groundwork for a transformed space that would better serve the needs of our employees. The improvements we implemented included:

WALLS, FLOORING & CEILING

The walls were adorned in the client’s bold blue and crisp white branding, creating a sense of familiarity. Our team installed a sleek suspended ceiling that adds depth and dimension to the space. To complement this transformation, we laid down a grey vinyl floor that not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but is also non-slip and easy to maintain, ensuring both safety and practicality. This surface was capped and coved to make cleaning easier.

INSTALLATION PHASE

Our team installed a new, modern, kitchenette. In addition to the base units, cupboards, and work surfaces, our mechanical services team carried out all plumbing work, including dishwasher installation and a hot water dispenser. Finally, we assembled and installed chairs and tables to match the client’s aesthetics.
